MEET MS. TERRA
Ms. Terra is a Suzuki violin, viola, and Suzuki early childhood education teacher. She passionate about teaching families how to cultivate a life-long love of learning and music. She began Suzuki violin studies as a child in Kansas City, Missouri. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Arizona State University and a Masters’ in Violin Performance/Pedagogy from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Terra was a Teaching Fellow and adjunct professor at the University of North Texas while pursuing her doctorate in violin performance with a music education concentration. She has completed Suzuki teacher training in violin and Suzuki Early Childhood Education, both with some of the top trainers in the country. Ms. Terra has 15+ years of teaching and experience. She believes each student is capable, and loves to help guide them to their full potential by focusing on a solid foundation of technique, ear training, and performing experiences. Her violin and viola students range from 3 years old to collegiate level musicians whom have made it into some of the biggest music programs in the country. She is on faculty at San Jose State University as Coordinator of the String Project. Having moved to the Bay Area recently, Ms. Terra is now accepting violin students in her home studio.
